If you work with a company that has multiple departments or contacts — each billed separately — you can set up a parent client with sub-clients underneath it.
Setting up a parent/sub-client relationship #
- Go to Clients and open the client you want to designate as a sub-client.
- Click Edit on the client.
- In the Parent Client field, search for and select the parent client.
- Save your changes.
What sub-clients affect #
- Revenue roll-up — The parent client’s total shows combined revenue across all sub-clients.
- Separate invoices — Each sub-client still gets its own invoice (they are not merged).
- Client table — Sub-clients appear nested under their parent in the client list.
Removing a parent relationship #
To detach a sub-client, edit the client and clear the Parent Client field.
